Traveling to Transform Communities

In 2010, two Dutch artists traveled to the Rio Slums in Brazil to bring change to the community.

Travel can be an extremely powerful way to transform communities, especially for impoverished areas such as the Rio Slums in Brazil. Two Dutch artists, armed with paint buckets and and paint brushes, traveled to Brazil to paint bright and beautiful murals on the walls of the buildings. Not only did this project bring smiles to the locals’ faces, but it also unified and engaged the entire community in an act of artistic creation.
